The Moon's Nodes show us our evolutionary path in this lifetime. Throughout our lives, we grow away from our South Node and toward our North Node. The South Node shows us our state of evolution when we entered this life and the North Node shows us our intended state of evolution when we leave the physical realm.
Together, the nodes show us the main areas of life that our growth will focus on. They reveal this lifetime's evolutionary starting point and destination. The path to get there is up to us. When we can see where we came from and where we're going to, we can determine if we're on our path or way off course in our evolution. We can see if we're growing or stagnating. The old habits from the past that hold us back become apparent, allowing us to choose a more direct path toward our intended point of evolution.
The current position of the nodes tells us about the overall evolutionary energies in which humanity is presently immersed. They show us the current evolutionary stage of humanity's collective Soul. When we each stay on our individual path and grow in our unique way that is perfect for us, we effect the collective.
The position of the nodes describes the present stage of growth of the human collective consciousness, emphasizing the specific areas of life for the individual psyche to focus on, in what ways, possible pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Humans can feel energy. Imagine a current of energy flowing from the South to the North nodes, in the direction of our evolution. We can use our awareness and sensations of energy currents to help us with our own growth, by flowing in the same direction, focusing on what they're pointing to. . The energetic overtones of the Moon's nodes affect each of us in unique ways, while we all flow in the same direction of human growth, one individual at a time. Going (growing) with the flow or against it and to what degree, is up to us.
So then, what is happening with the Moon's nodes and what does it mean? How is the stream of human evolution changing course at this time? The emphasis of personal growth is changing from one part of our psyche to another. Let's have a look at the specifics of this new energy and how we can most effectively work with the new energy while avoiding its inherent traps.
Recent Past
To define where we are in the present moment, it is helpful to first see where we just came from. Seeing the past helps us see our present habits, which hold us back from evolution. We acquired our present habits from the past. If we want to grow, if we want the world around us to change to our liking, we have to change our vision of the present by changing our habitual vision of and reaction to the past. We have to see and change our bad habits, even if your physical situation stays the same.
Remember, the energy flows from the South to the North nodes. The South Node represents our outdated, familiar habits of survival. The North Node represents our unknown, free, expansive future. We can't evolve if we hold onto the past, but the past is comfortable and the unknown future can be intimidating.
Typically, we stay in our comfort zones until the boredom of the past or excitement of the future becomes extreme, and the situation forces us to evolve. It's easier if we work with the energies and encourage our inevitable growth. Again, we do this by seeing our bad habits and changing them.
Energies We’re Completing - Defining Self
Since the summer of 2023, the overall evolutionary energy of humanity has been flowing from the South Node in Libra toward the North Node in Aries. We've been asked to look at our personal balance between our survival instinct to speak up for ourselves (Aries) and keeping our mouth shut in order to keep the peace (Libra).
The energy has been pushing us away from self-sacrifice for the sake of cooperation (Libra), and toward taking care of ourselves first (Aries). We as individuals and as a collective, have been pushed to speak up for ourselves even when it ruffles some feathers. We've been learning that what we want matters, and its up to us to say so.
But wait. Isn't it selfish to put yourself first? Putting others before ourselves is an act of evolution, right? Not to the point that we dissolve ourselves into the service of low-level Beings who ruthlessly seek to enslave us at any cost. It's up to us to free ourselves at any cost.
We need courage (Aries) to speak up for ourselves (Libra). That's been the Lesson of the Nodes for the past roughly year and a half.
The lesson has been to realize where and how we're being used, speak up about it and put a final end to it with certainty. As individuals. Therefore, as the collective.
Once we have extracted ourselves from energetically harmful situations and people, we can practice finding balance within ourselves and with others. How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice in the name of peace?
If we went around saying everything we think, society and relationships as we know them would malfunction. We must and we do find balance in our interactions. Every situation is different and if we tend to give too much of ourselves, maintaining peace may steal the rest of our lives. Do not let that happen.
Once you free yourself, you will be able to redefine your boundaries with confidence and self-esteem.
New Evolutionary Energies - The Invitation
Now, in January of 2025, we have learned those Aries-Libra lessons as well as we can during this cycle. The Universe says it's time to move to the next phase of evolution, where we focus on moving away from the concept of "other" (South Node in Virgo), and toward the idea of Unity (North Node in Pisces).
The Nodes are encouraging us to realize that everything is consciousness and all consciousness comes from the same Source. We are being called to open our eyes and see that separation is an illusion and we are, in reality, All One.
The South Node in Virgo is telling us that seeing people as separate from each other is an old habit that is no longer comfortable. The North Node in Pisces beckons us beyond that illusion, into Unity.
Roughly through the summer of 2026, our evolutionary lessons will focus on realizing that we're all from the same consciousness. When we hurt others, we hurt ourselves. When we help others, we help ourselves and when we help ourselves we help others.
With the North Node in Pisces, natural evolution is directing our attention toward our Higher Self, our Spirit-Self, that part of ourselves that is connected to All. If we answer the Call, we will develop eyes to see the Spirit in ourselves and in others. That changes everyone for the better.
Evolution as Reverse-Birth = Death of the Ego
The Nodes are always opposite each other and they move "backwards" through the Zodiac, counter to the motion of the planets. Evolution in the Zodiac is like a reverse-birth process, from Aries to Pisces. Reverse-birth sounds like death. Evolution is the death of the ego that we create in order to survive in the physical world.
When we're born, we transform from an idea in consciousness (Pisces) into a physical thing speaking out for its survival (Aries). When the North Node goes from Aries into Pisces, our evolutionary goal shifts from defining our boundaries, to realizing there are no boundaries. According to the "backwards" direction of the Moon's Nodes, that's the natural course of human evolution.
Traps and How To Avoid Them
Remember to ground yourself by creatively expressing yourself and remember to get lost within your own self-expression.
On the other side of Virgo, we see the physical trap of division, often manifesting as servant to a master, criticism and/or the need for impossible perfection. Thinking and acting like we're separate is a sure way to not reach Unity. Division is enforced every moment of our waking lives. Such is the seduction we must resist.
Remember, what we experience in 3D is only an illusion. The only power an illusion has is that which we give it with our own fear-based intense emotion. Don't be seduced by empty appearance.
Virgo can also hide in being too busy taking care of others. Being of service is noble and good, but if you lose yourself in the process, there's nothing left to be good and noble. Without you, there's no subject to put those attributes on. Be aware of yourself and recognize this if you see it.
The cure? Make time for you to do what you love to do. That thing that makes you forget about time, make time for that. Make your deeply fulfilling passions a priori
ty in your life.
Don't be critical of others or yourself. Criticism enforces separation and the empty promise of control. Both are illusions.
Learn to let go of issues in which you have no say. That will focus your energy on what you can effect. That will decrease your fear and need to control. That will setup a positive reinforcement loop between you and your environment. That will take you Home.
The trap with Pisces is that we lose our grounding in the physical world, like with alcohol, drugs or anything we use as an escape. Yes, even watching people on a screen. We can get stuck in those 2D worlds and exist there even without a screen. Another manifestation of the bad habit of seeing things as separate.
Expressing yourself creatively in the physical world (Sun) is a good way to balance getting lost in Pisces. This ties in with making time for your deep passion, even if that's just being alone. If you don't know what to express, look to the placement of your Sun for guidance.
Finding Pisces balance is especially important because the spiritual aspect is greatly exaggerated at this time. Just as the North Node enters Pisces, it will conjunct (merge with) Neptune, which is at home in Pisces. Piscean and Neptunian energies form a powerful resonance, increasing the influence of the Spiritual side of humanity and Unity, as discussed above. Now is the time to tune into your Higher Self. The Evolutionary Energies are encouraging it. Big Time.
Enjoy the Journey!
