Reclaim Your Power
Taking back our power is a common idea, but we’re missing something. The message is not getting through. Let’s take a closer look.
At a basic level, taking back our power means to stop being scared. When we're in our true power, we know we cannot be harmed. For good reason, the body holds fear. The immortal soul expressing through the body knows there's nothing to fear in this temporary illusion.
Feel the difference. Expressing through the physical body feels frantic, unsettled, uncertain, anxious. It is generally weak energy. Your soul, on the other hand, feels calm, in control, confident. It is strong, coherent energy.
The most powerful way for each of us to reclaim our power is to opt out of whatever drains it. Easier said than done in this ever-tightening digital prison. There's necessary screen time and unnecessary screen time. Separating them takes self-awareness and self-discipline.
Stopping yourself from getting sucked into your screen is a critical skill at this time. You saying "No!" instead of succumbing to the empty, hypnotic seduction will save your soul. That's taking your power back.
Energy flows to where your attention goes and that's what grows. It’s a common saying, but then many of us still go screen-scrolling and obsess over headlines.
Your energy goes to what you focus on, giving it your power. Your focus is your energy, so when you focus on something, you validate it with your energy. That's why there's such a ruthless, relentless battle for your attention, day and night.
Obviously, human attention has great value, otherwise it would not be sought after and indeed, fought over. It is certainly a limited resource. The act of giving our attention is called "paying attention".
We are programmed to focus on (pay attention to) what bothers us and that which we hate, and to obsess in terror over things that we cannot change, things we don't even know are real.
We’ve been programmed to hate eachother. If you’re divided, you’re trapped in a prison of your own attention. Your conscious awareness of yourself is the key to sweet freedom.
Taking back our power means reclaiming ourselves and our attention. They are both ours. We say where they go and when. Yes, we must often pay attention to our taxes and other responsibilities that come from living within the system, but we don't have to pay any attention to fear-mongering, rage-inciting propaganda or anything else that makes us feel weak, confused and powerless. Put that attention onto yourself.
More than a Feeling
Taking our power back must be more than a fleeting romantic ideal. The sentiment feels empowering in the moment, but it’s empty. It evaporates as quickly as we can scroll in frantic desperation for meaning in the next moment.
The sentiment of reclaiming our own power must be backed by action, especially the action of thought. Thought directs our emotions and our emotions create our reality. Propaganda implants thoughts which incite emotions of fear and hatred (separation).
Your own conscious thoughts can also elicit emotions of strength and courage (Unity). Instead of looking at headlines, close your eyes and think of yourself as powerful. Feel the sensation of your own power within you. Feel your own inner confidence. Practice this. Do it all day every day, throughout your daily life.
That is how your attention can weaken or empower you. Only you can choose to reclaim your personal power and only you can take the action toward that blessed goal of freedom.
