Past or Future: Where Do You Dwell?
Stop thinking about the past, good and bad memories. They no longer exist. All that exists is the Now. The past and future exist only in the mind, which exists in only in the Now.
Where you focus your thoughts is up to you. Instead of obsessing over and pining for a past you can never return to, think of your future, just the way you want it to be. Think about where you're going. Forget where you've been. Focusing on the past keeps you stagnant because you can't change it and you can't go back to it. We get trapped in the solidified low emotions of memory.
Yes, there's a lot of emphasis on being in the Now moment, but in the realm of time, the Now moment is meaningless without a purposeful future. Now creates future. Without a future to guide the Now, energy wanders aimlessly and ends up in a 3D trap. If we don't focus our mind on our future, someone else will focus it on their future.
Thinking about - remembering - the future instead of the past shifts your energy in many ways.
Focusing on the future breaks up the old stuck energy and puts you back in charge of Time. With the future, you use Time to your advantage instead of being its slave in the past.
Focusing on the future keeps you alive, fluid and dynamic because you can change it to be whatever you want. The future keeps you creative and aware of the life you're creating in the Now. It keeps you engaged in life instead of wanting to disappear from it.
When you think about your desired future, you empower yourself. Living in the past renders you powerless.
Using the Past for Healing
Thinking about the past is not a healthy habit, but it is useful for processing our wounds and clearing the emotions we're stuck in. When we do this, we do it consciously and purposefully. Sit there, relax, and feel the emotions your past has generated in you. Know that it can't hurt you, feel the emotion and examine it as deeply as you can. Then gracefully let it go. Don't dwell, don't hang on, don't let it linger. When it passes, move into your present and define your future.
Don't feel guilty about moving on. Guilt is a lower emotion, part of the trap. Moving on is one of our Duties to ourselves. The Bigger Mission we signed up for requires that we process and move on.
Guilt allows us to be controlled. It keeps us in the false cage built of our own illusion of inadequacy. Set yourself free. We're all human and we've all been unconscious. As we grow, we become more aware of our unconscious actions. In our growth, we can forgive ourselves and act differently in the future. Conscious growth heals the past by facing it and forgiving it.
You're in a human body on Earth right Now for many reasons, not the least of which is to embody good energy. You won't find good energy clinging to the past. It will be found in your future. No matter the reason, life requires moving into the future from your Now moment. Don't let the lower emotions from your past keep you from the higher vibrations of your future.
The future is Infinite Potential, which is limited only by your imagination, which is limited only by the conditioning of your past. Let go of the past and reimagine the conditions of your future.
It’s All About Emotions
While our emotions about the past keep us in the past, our emotions about the future propel us into the future we feel Now.
Feel joy, satisfaction, innocence, love, harmony and compassion while you're thinking about yourself in the future. Feel them as if the future is Now. Feel the new emotions in your cells. Feel them so that you can't help but smile. Then hold the smile and the sensations within your cells. Feeling the future is far more powerful than thinking about it.
Don't just do these things as a meditation, separate from your daily life. Incorporate them into your daily life. Daily practice is important to get into the habit.
